Kenny Quandt, 79, of rural Maynard, Iowa, died suddenly on Monday evening, June 15, 2026, at MercyOne, Oelwein.

Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. Friday, June 19, 2026, at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Maynard, with Pastor Randy Baldwin officiating.
Visitation: 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday and for one hour before the service on Friday at the funeral home.
Final Resting Place: West Union Cemetery, West Union, Iowa.

Kenneth Elmer John Quandt was born March 2, 1947, in rural Fayette, Iowa, the son of Arthur F. & Ella W. (Wichmann) Quandt. He was raised in rural Fayette where he attended Grace Lutheran Church and graduated from Fayette High School in the class of 1965. Kenny owned and operated his own trucking business for 45 years, retiring in 2019. In his free time, Kenny enjoyed his quarter horses, going on trail rides out West and at Volga Recreation Center. He also enjoyed his many cats and spending time with his grandchildren.

Kenny is survived by his Partner: Bev Duncan of Maynard; Daughter: Kenda (Neil) Gleason of LaPorte City; Son: Kody Quandt of Kansas City, Missouri; 7 Grandchildren: Jonathan, Regan, Hanna, Andrew, Austin (Sami), Kaylon and Ella; Great Grandson: Archie; 3 Siblings: Idella “Debby” Klein of Hampton, Paulus Quandt of Waterloo & JoAnn (Russ) Treptow of Maynard and many Nieces & Nephews.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents; 4 siblings: Betty (Elmer) Volker, Gehlen Quandt, Donald (Roma) Quandt and Lauretta (Bill) Pape and in-laws: Clifford Klein and Marian Quandt.
