Kathryn Macke, 88, of Oelwein, Iowa died on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Community Memorial Hospital in Sumner, Iowa. Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 A.M. Monday, May 2, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oelwein, with Rev. Paul C. McManus and Deacon Jim Patera officiating. Visitation: 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Sunday and from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. on Monday at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein. Scripture Service: 7:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein, Iowa. Memorial Fund: American Heart Association or American Cancer Society. Online obituary at www.jamisonschmitzfuneralhome.com Kathryn Wilhelmina Marie Schuett was born on August 26, 1927 in Bloomfield, Nebraska the daughter of August Jacob & Martha Reno (Hill) Schuett. She received her education in Nebraska. Kathryn was united in marriage to Alphonse Anthony "Al" Macke on April 21, 1947 in Creighton, Nebraska. The family moved to Oelwein, Iowa in 1968. Kathryn was a homemaker, child care provider and she baked and decorated cakes and cookies for special occasions. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Rosary Society, the V.F.W. Auxiliary and the D.A.V. Auxiliary. Kathryn enjoyed baking, sewing and gardening. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother and how much she dearly loved all of her children and grandchildren. Kathryn is survived by her 6 Sons: Anthony (Naoma) Macke of Creighton, Nebraska, Charles (Diane) Macke of Oelwein, Gary (Faye) Macke of Royal, Nebraska, Robert (Penny) Macke of Hawkeye, Joseph (Cathy) Macke of Manley, Nebraska & Timothy (Doris) Macke of Fairbank; 3 Daughters: Teresa (Bill) Bontrager of Richville, Minnesota, Janice Rahe of Marshall, Minnesota & Beverly (Fred) Engler of Hawkeye; 21 Grandchildren; 41Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandson; 3 Brothers: Darrel Schuett of Bloomfield, Nebraska, Kenneth (Sherry) Schuett of Mexia, Texas & Myron (Nancy) Schuett of Laurel, Nebraska; Sister: Phyllis Macke of Wayne, Nebraska and Many Nieces & Nephews. Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Al on January 2, 2001, granddaughter: Kathryn Bontrager, great great granddaughter: Morgan Goldsmith, 2 brothers: Robert and a brother at birth, sister-in-law: Erma Schuett and brother-in-law: Bernard Macke, Jr.
