Elizabeth A. "Liz" McCann, 78, of Oelwein and formerly of Stanley, Iowa died Monday afternoon, December 14, 2015 at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oelwein with Reverend Paul C. McManus and Deacon Jim Patera officiating. Visitation: 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein. C.D.A. Rosary: 4:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Parish Scripture Service: 7:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa. Online obituary at www.jamisonschmitzfuneralhome.com Elizabeth Ann Tuttle was born July 18, 1937 at Ontario, Wisconsin, the daughter of Glenn and Jesse (Mitchell) Tuttle. She graduated from high school in Ontario, Wisconsin. On July 18, 1959, she was united in marriage to Eugene Frederick "Gene" McCann at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Wilton, Wisconsin. Liz was employed at Woolworth and Ben Franklin for several years and later was a volunteer for hospice in Oelwein. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oelwein, Catholic Daughters of the Americas and Aurora American Legion Auxiliary. Liz enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, READING and most of all her grandchildren. Liz is survived by her husband, Gene McCann of Oelwein; 5 Children: Matt (Diane) McCann of Hazleton, Greg (Sherry) McCann of Marion, Kathy (Mark) Bond of Arlington, Kevin (Bo) McCann of Readlyn and Michelle (Ted) Adams of Walker; 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sons: Stephen McCann and Edward McCann; and 1 brother: Halbert Tuttle.
