Echo Beth P. Linder, 81, of Oelwein, died Wednesday morning, September 17, 2014, at her home surrounded by her family. Memorial Service: 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 26, 2014, at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein with Rev. Charis Combs-Lay officiating. Visitation: 10:00 A.M. to service time on Friday at the funeral home. Inurnment: will be at a later date. A Memorial Fund has been established in her name. Online obituary at www.jamisonschmitzfuneralhome.com Echo Beth Phyllis Peterson was born January 1, 1933, at Nashua, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Helen (Simerson) Peterson. She graduated from the Nashua High School. On September 23, 1961, she was united in marriage to John E. "Jack" Linder at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Echo Beth owned and operated Mode O'day Women's Clothing Store in Oelwein for many years. She was also employed as store manager at Kum N Go until her retirement. Echo Beth was a member of Christ United Presbyterian Church and the Oelwein Chamber of Commerce. She enjoyed bowling, knitting, bingo, going to "the boat", playing on the computer and watching "The Voice" and "America's Got Talent". Echo Beth especially loved her flower-water gardens and watching her koi fish. Spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren was her greatest joy. Echo Beth is survived by her husband, Jack Linder of Oelwein; 5 children, Doug (Carol) Nolan of Cedar Rapids, Dorsey Herman of Cedar Falls, Joe Nolan of Oelwein, Natalie (Chris) Conner of Salem, Virginia and Donald (Neil Boudreaux) Linder of Marion; 8 grandchildren, Parker Vest, Adam and Audrey Herman, Jessica and Joe Mitchell, Caleb (Allison) Nolan and Joe and Katie Nolan; 5 great grandchildren, Jacob Nolan, Trinity and Teagan Mitchell, Timothy Nolan and Xuvia Stevenson; sister, Della (Archie) Matheny of Hardy, Arkansas; 2 brothers, Dick (Diane) Peterson and Ronald Peterson both of Hardy, Arkansas; brothers-in-law, Jerry Linder of Fredericksburg and Bob (Arlis) Linder of Arlington, Virginia; sisters-in-law, Jan (Don) Wearda of Cresco and Sharon (Robert) Ash of Rockford, Illinois; many nieces and nephews; and 2 grand dogs, Lilly and Milly. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Austin Peterson; and her parents-in-law, George and Rachel Linder.
