Darlys M. Sachtschale, 81, of Oelwein, Iowa died on Friday afternoon, November 11, 2016 at Oelwein Health Care Center in Oelwein. Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church, Oelwein, with Rev. Patricia Shaw officiating. Visitation: 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein and for one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday. Interment: Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, rural Oelwein, Iowa. Online obituary at www.jamisonschmitzfuneralhome.com Darlys Mary Buchholz was born on September 28, 1935, the daughter of Lawrence & Renetta (Zanders) Buchholz. She graduated from Tripoli High School and worked at Rath Packing in Waterloo. Darlys was united in marriage to Henry Joseph Sachtschale on September 18, 1960 in Siegel, Iowa. Darlys was a homemaker and also worked at the Oelwein Daily Register as a route driver and in circulation. She retired from the paper, after many years as a dedicated employee, at the age of 75 years. Darlys was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a person who was always thinking of others. Darlys is survived by her 3 Sons: Dennis (Carol) Sachtschale of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, Dale (Colleen) Sachtschale of West Union & Dean (Kelly) Sachtschale of Cedar Rapids and 3 Grandsons: Joseph Sachtschale, Zachary Sachtschale & Austin Sachtschale. Darlys was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Henry on April 28, 1999 and 2 brothers: Duane and Donald.
