Clark L. Snitker, 62, of Oelwein, Iowa died suddenly on Sunday evening, July 16, 2017 at Mercy Hospital of Franciscan Sisters in Oelwein. Funeral Service: 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 21, 2017 at the Aurora United Methodist Church in Aurora with Pastor Wayne Mullen officiating. Visitation: 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein and for one hour before the service at the church on Friday. Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein, Iowa. Online obituary at www.jamisonschmitzfuneralhome.com Clark Lee Snitker was born on August 30, 1954 in Waukon, Iowa, the son of Richard & Harriet (Hanson) Snitker. He graduated from Waukon High School in the Class of 1972. Clark worked at Cod Brandt's Gas Station and Blocker Milling Service, both in Waukon. He moved to Oelwein in 1979 and began work at the Aurora Elevator. He later moved to Aurora where he lived for many years. Clark entered into partnership in purchasing the Aurora Elevator with Dave Young in 1992. Clark was married to Sheri Fasig on August 19, 2016 at Backbone State Park near Strawberry Point. They made their home in Oelwein. Clark liked to gamble at casinos, attend Iowa Hawkeye games and watch John Wayne movies. He loved his family and he especially loved being a grandfather and attending his grandchildren's activities. Clark is survived by the love of his life: Sheri Snitker of Oelwein; 5 Daughters: Jodi (Aron) Liebe of Sargent Bluff, Jamie Snitker of San Jose, California, Jaide Snitker of Marion, Meghanne (Kushan) Edussuriya of San Antonio, Texas & Morghanne Teel of San Antonio, Texas; Son: Mitch (Krissy) Teel of LeMars; 11 Grandchildren: Blake & Emilee Liebe, Trevor, Nolan, Mya & Gia Teel, Kenzo Snitker, Micah Snitker and Rishan, Elias & Rowyn Edussuriya; Mother: Harriet Snitker of Waukon; Brother: Al Snitker of Waukon; 4 Sisters: Judy (Fred) Meierkord, of Ames, Deb (Wayne) Rissman of Waukon, Carol Snitker (Dennis Gulland) of Rosemont, Minnesota & Shawn (Jim) Hodina of Cedar Rapids; Mother-In-Law: Barb Dopp of Oelwein; 2 Brothers-In-Law: Dave (Kim) Dopp of Oelwein & Randel (Michelle) Dopp of Cedar Rapids; Sister-In-Law: Lori (Jamie) Kemp of Billings, Montana; Many Nieces & Nephews and their Beloved Golden Retriever: Murphy. Clark was preceded in death by his father: Richard Snitker in 1982 and his father-in-law: Delwyn Dopp in 2011.
