Allen Ray Love, Sr. Obituary (1943

Allen R. Love, Sr., 68 of Oelwein, died Monday morning, November 21, 2011 at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo. There will not be a memorial service. Visitation: 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein. Inurnment: At a later date. Online obituary at www.jamisonschmitzfuneralhome.com Allen Ray Love, Sr. was born April 10, 1943, at Davenport, Iowa, the son of Harvey and Betty Love, Sr. In 1961, Allen graduated from the Iowa School for the Deaf in Council Bluffs. He was employed for 30 years as a welder at the Rock Island Arsenal. He was a member of the Deaf Club Fraternity. Allen enjoyed bowling, playing cards, basketball and fishing. Allen is survived by his seven children, Vickie (Scott) Heiser of Costa Rica, Vida (Robert) Long of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, Allen Ray Love, Jr. of Clermont, Iowa, Beverly (Don) Robbins of Oelwein, Iowa, Lee Love of Anamosa, Iowa, Ray Love of Illinois, and April Love of Illinois; one step-son, John Ketelson of Des Moines, Iowa; 15 grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; seven great grandchildren; mother, Betty Love of Texas; and a brother, Harvey Love, Jr. of Texas. He was preceded in death by his father.
