Leon N. Jorgensen, 78, of Oelwein, Iowa died on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at his home.
Funeral Service: 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Grace United Methodist Church, Oelwein, with Rev. Connie Markle officiating. Visitation: 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Friday at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein and for one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Leon Neil Jorgensen was born on October 15, 1934 at Oelwein, Iowa, the son of Carl Ingbardt & Georgia Marie (Rich) Jorgensen. He received his education at the Oelwein Schools. Leon was united in marriage to Drucille Mary “Boots” Klug on September 3, 1955 at the Methodist Parsonage at Independence, Iowa. Leon spent his life working in the semi truck and automotive businesses. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing and tinkering in the garage. In more recent years` he enjoyed going to coffee and visiting with his friends. Leon’s family was the most important to him and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Leon is survived by his Daughter: Jan (Garrieth “Butch”) Franks of Oelwein; Son: Scott (Connie) Jorgensen of Oelwein; 4 Grandchildren; Sister-In-Law: Joy Jorgensen of Colorado; Sister-In-Law: Nellie Resiman of Des Moines; Brother-In-Law: Kenny (Bonnie) Klug of Des Moines and Several Nieces & Nephews.
Leon was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Boots on January 12, 2005 and his twin brother: Leo Jorgensen.
