Robert C. “Bob” Guenther, 91, of Dundee, Iowa, died Sunday evening, February 17, 2013 at his home.

Funeral Services: 10:30 A.M. Saturday, February 23, 2013 at St. John Lutheran Church in Dundee, Iowa with Rev. Timothy Miller officiating. Visitation: 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday, February 22, 2013 at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester and after 9:30 A.M. Saturday at the church. Interment: Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, rural Oelwein, Iowa.

A Memorial Fund has been established in his name for Hospice of Comfort; St. John Lutheran Church, Dundee or Strawberry Point Lutheran Home.

Robert Clinton Guenther was born March 6, 1921 at Hawkeye, Iowa, the son of William and Ella (McIntyre) Guenther. He attended country school near Hawkeye. On September 1, 1944 he was united in marriage to Neoma “Babe” Weber at Zion Lutheran Church in Oelwein. Robert was a welder at Allis Chalmers and Harnischfeger in Cedar Rapids. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Dundee, U.A.W. Local Union and Country Cousins Square Dance Club. Robert enjoyed horse racing, square dancing, playing cards, sports, hunting, fishing and working in the yard.

Robert is survived by his wife, Neoma Guenther of Dundee; 2 Daughters, Lynne Smith of Davenport and Lisa (Randy) Rhoades of Madison, Alabama; 1 Granddaughter, Cathy (Chris) Gimm; 1 Great Grandson, Michael Gimm; 1 Brother, Harvey Guenther of Fredericksburg; and several Nieces and Nephews; and Cousins.

He was preceded in death by his Son, Larry Guenther; Parents; 1 Brother, Lester Guenther; and 2 Sisters, Wilma Guenther and Florence Niedert.
